Safety, Technology, and Attention Research (STAR) Lab
In STAR lab, each researcher studies ways to improve people’s attention control in real-world settings, from airplane cockpits to security screening and education. Check out more here.
My role on the team was to schedule 50 participants (older adults, and students) time to visit the lab, ensure each participant understood and signed the informed consent forms, administered interactive education learning test, recording reactions to the program (timing, comments, fidgeting behavior), and analyzing data with the team for actionable insights on usability, instructional design, and guided discovery.
Ethical Decision-Making and Ethical Naturlism (EDEN) Lab
In Eden Lab, researchers focused on policies and technologies that promote information transparency, helping to protect and understand the interests of diverse and vulnerable populations (e.g., surrogate medical decision making; cybersecurity; Native American health; communicable disease prevention). Check out more information here.
My role on the team was to design a cybersecurity survey from with guidance of the faculty research professor, Dr. Adam Feltz:
o Assessing validity and reliability of questions
o Administering survey via Amazon Mechanical Turk sdfalkfdsalkjfsdjkl
o Analyzing quantitative data
o Drawing insights from result
I presented findings to the wider research and local community in Houghton Michigan through an undergraduate symposium
